Free swimming for 16s & under and
60s & over until 2011
Golden girl Eleanor Simmonds is backing a Walsall Council scheme to offer free swimming sessions for all children aged 16 and under.
Double olympic gold medallist, Rebecca Adlington is backing a similar scheme for adults aged 60 and over.
The free swimming offer is valid from January 3 2009 until March 31 2011.
Borough residents have already been buoyed by the Walsall-born swimming sensation’s double gold medal triumph in Beijing and the council is keen to keep this enthusiasm alive.
Those eligable can simply fill out a form at any of the borough’s leisure centres and they can make a splash whenever they like.
